Product Description

The Fossil Story
Founded in 1984 when timepieces were created more for function than fashion, Fossil began to transform this notion with its unique combination of vintage 1950s Americana design and affordably accessible cool style. Adding to their collectibility were the one-of-a-kind, trademark tins that came with the watches that mixed a creative spirit with a sense of humor. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.
Today, Fossil produces over 300 different styles of watches in a continuously changing lineup. While the majority of designs are created by in-house designers, Fossil has reached out to such contemporary artisans as product designer Philip Starck and famed architect Frank Gehry (designer of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) to create uniquely modern timepieces. In addition to style innovations, Fossil has also helped introduce innovative technologies into watches, such as the Wrist PDA that ran the Palm operating system. Fossil also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel.

We've taken a jet-black dial with silver indexes and combined it with a stainless-steel case for this signature chronograph dress watch. From timeless classics to the latest fashions, Fossil is sure to have the timepiece that perfectly compliments your unique sense of style. Customer Reviews

I owned a Fossil watch in the past, however, that one broke. Since I was getting complements like crazy with my old broken fossil watch, I decided to give Fossil another try.
-Upon receiving this product, I noticed that the watch wasn't heavy at all, unlike what another reviewer mentioned. My invicta watch is heavier - Invicta Men's 9211 Speedway Collection - and it has a smaller face than this one 40mm vs 45mm. I noticed that this watch only goes up to 5ATM, whereas the invicta goes all way up to 20ATM, so that might explain the weight difference. Also the watch band seems pretty thin and I would dare to say that it seems a bit flimsy.
This lack of weight throughout the whole watch and the thin, flimsy band makes the watch seem a bit cheap when I hold it.
-Continuing on with the clasp... the clap is a little bit different. They don't really show it in the picture posted by Amazon, but you have to push a button on the side of the claps and this makes it pop open. I don't mind the closing mechanism of the clasp. What I DO mind is that the clasp does not let you micro adjust the size of the band. This is pretty annoying because I took enough links to make it fit my wrist, but it was a bit loose that it slid around my wrist. Taking another link out, made it painfully tight. In comparison to the invicta 9211 watch (go to the Amazon page and take a look at the pictures so you know what I am talking about) the size of the band can be micro adjusted through the clasp. What I did to fix this problem was tape some thin leather strips (I cut the piece of leather that came with the watch/inside the box) on the inner side of the watch band. So far it seems to work and my watch isn't sliding all over my wrist.
Okay, so let's go over the positives...
-The watch looks pretty nice. It definitely looks more than it cost. I paid less than retail for the watch, by the way. This is the main reason why I gave the watch 4 stars despite all the cons.
-The 45mm face is the perfect size. Not too big that you look like a gangster, nor too small that it makes it look feminine. People will notice your watch for sure.
-Another thing that I like is that the second hand ACTUALLY moves and tells the seconds. In my other watches, the second hand is used for the chronograph, a feature that I barely touch.
As for durability, I just received the watch. I'll update my review if I see any obscene scratches on the face or it stops working in the following months.

Just think it's a little bit heavy, but that's not a big issue. It came with a scratch where the strap attaches to the clock itself, but it is almost impossible to see unless you look closely.
Besides this minor detail, it's a good product.
